Absence and Tardy Policy
Attendance will be taken promptly at 8:30am daily. Students will be marked “tardy” if they arrive after 8:30am. Please note: students must arrive IN THE CLASSROOM by 8:30am. Being dropped off outside at 8:30am still constitutes a “tardy.” Ten of such distinctions warrants an absence. Instruction starts at 8:30am on the dot, therefore it is imperative that students arrive and unpack prior to that time. Mrs. Self fully expect students to be seated and working on their morning work at that time. Our curriculum is very content-rich; please help her by ensuring your student is prompt!
If a student is out due to an illness, please let Mrs. Self know. You can do this by contacting her through email, or by calling the school and leaving a message for her. She will make accommodations for make-up work to be left with the front office. If a student misses a test due to an illness, a make-up testing date will be assigned.
It is important to arrive no later than 8:30am daily!
If a student is absent due to a planned event (appointment, trip, etc.), please let Mrs. Self know as soon as plans are made. Please make every effort not to schedule an absence on a testing day. Should a student have an appointment that falls on a testing day, the student would need to take the test PRIOR to the absence. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
